When you register your daughter, you will be asked if she is interested in going through a skills evaluation process to be considered for summer travel ball season.
In the past, MYGS Association has facilitated summer travel ball programs for 10U, 11U and 12U teams. We are excited to announce that we will also facilitate an 8U team for the 2016 travel season! The number of teams in each age division is dependent on the number of girls that successfully complete skills evaluation.
All girls must complete skills evaluations testing conducted by evaluation specialists that do not have a daughter being evaluated for any team. Specialists will be chosen by the Board of Directors. The skill evaluators and the Board of Directors have the final decision on whether a child meets the skill requirement to play on a travel team.
These are competitive teams and equal playing time is not guaranteed. There is an additional cost to participate. Practices officially begin the week after the city league tournament. There will be two practices per week. Tournaments may be played up to 2 ½ hours away from Mosinee and overnight stay may be important. Some tournaments may begin with Friday games.
The tentative 2016 Travel Season dates and locations for 10U, 11U, and 12U are as follows:
June 17-19 Poynette
June 24-26 Eau Claire
July 15-17 Stevens Point
July 22-24 Chippewa Falls
The 8U team will have two tournaments, dates and locations are yet to be determined. Many 8U tournaments have experienced pitchers. We will be evaluating tournament selection for this team based on pitching rules and regulations and will search for tournaments that will challenge our players and improve on their developing skills.
